TROUBLE CUTS was formed in Northeast Portland in 2015 by Ed Cole, Kiley Henner and Dan Kopton. Kiley and Ed had known each other in Humboldt County, California, where their bands Nuisance and Garden Weasel both played in the local punk scene in the 1990s. Reconnecting 20 years later, they recruited Dan Kopton on the drums and performed around Portland and Eugene and released the 4-song EP Fools from the Suburbs in 2016. In 2017 Dan left the band and was replaced by Jonno Peltz, who hails from the Illinois Punk scene of the 1980s, where he shared the stage with the Replacements, Soul Asylum, Minutemen and others during his tenure in several different bands including the Outnumbered and the (non-Kim Deal) Breeders. Bringing a killer backbeat to the snappy modern rock of Ed and Kiley's songs, Jonno completes the triangle of the seminal Dad-Rockers of NE PDX. TROUBLE CUTS has arrived, you'd best get off the lawn.
